Team Ignition (Chicago) is looking for Bilingual Copywriters & Jr. Interactive Art Director

JOB DESCRIPTION – BILINGUAL COPYWRITER - CHICAGO


SUMMARY
The Bilingual Copywriter must generate creative ideas to solve the marketing challenge as outlined on the agency/client creative brief. Above and beyond the conceptual, the copywriter is specifically responsible for the written aspects (scripts, headlines, body copy) of creating advertising elements for specified media in Spanish and English.


DAILY TASKS

  • She/he works as part of an Agency team to achieve the client’s objectives through creative imagery and effective message strategies. 
  • Demonstrates creative thinking and provides marketable solutions for advertising problems. 
  • Brings innovative concepts into finished copy for print, digital, television, radio and collateral materials from conception to completion.
  • Has the ability to translate a brief into a creative platform idea.
  • Maintains a status on all on going projects and makes sure all deliverables are met in a timely manner.
  • Along with the AD, delivers polished and well-designed creative elements for internal and external presentations. 
  • Ensures brand guidelines and glossary are followed and adhered to.
  • Ensures synergy when working with General Market across all components of a campaign.
  • Adheres to established formats and works within budget boundaries.
  • Generates big ideas for 360 ad campaigns. 
  • Interprets creative briefs and client feedback.
  • Participates and contributes to creative briefings, creative presentations to the ACD/CD, to Account Service, and to clients.
  • Follows through on production of accepted ideas with assistance of CD.
  • Works closely with CD/AD and producer, monitoring all copy materials through all stages of pre-production, production and post-production. 
  • Understands and handles print, digital and broadcast production from conceptual phase to completion, ensuring thorough, complete, detailed and accurate information and communication is shared between directors, photographers, editors, set designers, illustrators, freelancers, etc., for print, digital and broadcast production.
  • Along with CD, helps give direction to photographers, designers, directors, editors, and other vendors as they relate to the creative output.

 
REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish. 
  • Proficiency in presentation skills– a requirement for creative presentations.
  • Ability to travel for production and client presentations. 
  • Must possess exceptional creative writing and grammatical skills. Strong attention to detail. 
  • Time management skills. Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work under pressure, and long hours may be required. 
  • Must possess exceptional computer skills.
  • Must be comfortable using a MAC, be proficient in and possess a thorough knowledge of the following: Word, PowerPoint, Keynote and Acrobat Creative Suite. 

 

EDUCATION

  • An ad school or liberal arts (4 year) degree is preferred 
  • A minimum of an associates (2 year) degree in creative writing or English
  • 2+ years related experience.

Above and beyond the conceptual, the Jr. Interactive Art Director is specifically responsible for the content, look and technical aspects (layouts, storyboards, design and interactivity ecosystem) of creating advertising elements for interactive media.

  • Demonstrates creative thinking and provides marketable solutions for advertising problems. 
  • Brings innovative concepts into finished layouts for print, digital, television, radio and collateral materials from conception to completion.
  • Has the ability to translate a brief into a creative platform idea.
  • Maintains a status on all on going projects and makes sure all deliverables are met in a timely manner.
  • Along with the CW, delivers polished and well-designed creative elements for internal and external presentations. 
  • Ensures brand guidelines are followed and adhered to.
  • Ensures synergy when working with General Market across all components of a campaign.
