Cannes Lions announces 2021 shortlist jury

Jury members from Latam and right across the Asia Pacific region join industry elites from Iran, Ghana and Egypt, bringing a breadth of global expertise to the Lions awards.

In a Cannes Lions first, a higher percentage of women 52% are represented on the shortlist juries this year.

26 April 2021 – Cannes Lions has today announced its jury line-up of global experts selected to shortlist world-class creative work and benchmark excellence this June.

The Lion-winning work will be announced, awarded and celebrated during Cannes Lions Live, a fully digital experience, running from 21-25 June 2021, which all LIONS members will receive complimentary access to.

The Cannes Lions shortlist juries are formed of elite experts from every corner of the industry, and comprise 52% female jurors this year, the highest on record.

55 countries are represented in 2021. Jury members from the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Ghana, Lebanon, Egypt and Latam - Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Colombia and Argentina – are joined by a significant number of industry experts from across the Asia Pacific region - China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Japan, India, Singapore, Taiwan, Philippines, Australia and New Zealand – alongside members from Europe, the UK and the USA.

Simon Cook, Managing Director, LIONS, says: “Lion-winning creative work is not bound by location, it emerges from all corners of the world to compete and benchmark excellence on the global stage. So, it’s incredible to welcome this truly global line-up of jury experts. Every year, our juries grow more diverse. This is part of our ongoing commitment to appoint elite talent from across the full breadth of our global community.”

Philip Thomas, Chairman, LIONS, comments: “Our jury members represent every region in the world and illustrate the global scale of the Lions awards. Cannes Lions Live, our fully digital experience in June, will enable our entire community to join us - throughout the globe - to celebrate Lion-winning creativity.”

Thomas adds: “After pausing the awards last year, our juries will be shortlisting Lions across two years’ worth of work, which is an unprecedented opportunity to set the global creative benchmark for two years of outstanding creative work.”

The Lions’ shortlisting juries will take part in remote judging from their home locations worldwide. Speaking about the process, Susie Walker, VP Awards & Insight, LIONS, explains: “Shortlist jury members play a vital role in conducting the first round of judging, which creates the shortlist in a number of Lions. We’re committed to delivering a world-class judging experience of the standard we’re known for, and crucially, every piece of creative work will be given the time and discussion it deserves.”

Cannes Lions 2021 to run as a fully digital experience

LIONS-logo-Black.png

Cannes Lions Live will run from 21-25 June The Lion-winning work will be announced and awarded during Cannes Lions Live

7 April 2021 - LIONS has today announced that Cannes Lions 2021 will be fully digital, running as Cannes Lions Live, from 21-25 June. The event in Cannes, France, will not take place this year.

Philip Thomas, Chairman, LIONS, said, “Over the last year, we’ve been consulting with our customers and working on our plans, including the development of Cannes Lions Live as part of the new LIONS Membership platform. We are now able to move fully to this format for 2021 - which will have all the celebration, inspiration and participation of Cannes Lions - to unite the global community virtually during Cannes Lions Live this June.”

Cannes Lions Live will bring outstanding live and on-demand content and experiences delivered by exceptional talent, as well as revealing, analysing and celebrating the winners of the Lions. Access to Cannes Lions Live is included in the fee for LIONS Membership.

Simon Cook, Managing Director, LIONS, said, “Cannes Lions Live will also signal the return of the Lions awards. After the benchmark of the awards was paused last year, we want to be able to give our community the chance to immerse themselves in the creative work once again. We’ll be championing the work on a huge scale - tracking progress throughout the week, analysing the winners, delivering insights, identifying new talent - it’s the return of the benchmark and a moment for the industry to reflect but also look forward.”

LIONS Membership, which launches in May, will unite the world’s largest creative network of people and businesses to drive professional, personal and societal progress through creativity. All LIONS members will receive complimentary access to Cannes Lions Live as part of their membership. Annual LIONS membership is priced at €249. All Lion winners, past and present, will be gifted complimentary membership.

Further information on Cannes Lions Live will be released over the coming weeks, including details of the immersive experiences and talent lined up to be a part of the week. A standalone digital pass to Cannes Lions Live (without membership benefits) costs €249, with lower rates available for the under 30s and future talent. LIONS Membership and Cannes Lions Live Digital Passes will be available to buy in May.

El FIAP + PRODU Innovation Summit anuncia sus fechas para 2021

big-FiapNuevafecha.jpg

There is a very strong group behind the Círculo, and we all put a lot of effort into it to grow the industry. We have a lot of projects so members will get more out of it than ever this cycle. We want Círculo Creativo USA to be a space for everyone to demonstrate their talent, whether it’s their first time around or they are already very dizzy, dizzy, dizzy from all the Círculo and cycles over the years.

Category: Keynotes

The coronavirus pandemic has exemplified how crises most aggressively affect those most vulnerable. Minorities globally suffer the most but are supported the least. We are all in the same storm, but not in the same boat. However, through unity, creativity and a sense of purpose, minorities can emerge stronger from crises.

This session will showcase how a creative idea allowed the Hispanic community to unify, to emerge from the shadows, and to support their recovery from the global COVID-19 pandemic. It will overview how cultural insights are transformed into relevant communication for Hispanics and minority groups to reach, impact, and support multicultural segments, both in response to crisis, but also how it can be implemented in general marketing efforts.
